600V FRED Ultrfast Rectifiers in Powerpack Packages for SMPS Applications

March 5, 2014 — Continuing to offer discrete semiconductors that deliver high performance, Won-Top Electronics today released a new series of 600V FRED ultrafast rectifiers offered at 8A, 15A, 16A, and 30A forward current in a variety of powerpack packages including TO-220A, TO-220, ITO-220A, ITO-220, and D2PAK to accommodate in SMPS from 200W up to 3000W.

Utilizing the planar die construction with platinum doped process, these new rectifiers feature low forward voltage drop at 1.5V, extremely fast recovery time from 28nS and soft recovery characteristics that reduce EMI noise. High switching efficiency and low conduction losses help design engineers conform with energy efficiency legislation, such as 80 Plus and other standards. These devices are optimized for use as boost diodes at PFC stage of SMPS, LCD/LED TVs, or as output rectification diodes in desktop, server, and telecom power supplies.

This new family of 600V FRED ultrafast rectifiers operate at maximum junction temperature of +175°C whilst generating low thermal resistance that allows designer to use smaller heatsinks and helps decrease build cost and end product size. These devices are lead-free and compliant to RoHS 2.0 and REACH standards. The plastic material meets UL 94V-0 classification and is available in halogen-free upon request.
